I blew into town with 100 degrees and brilliant sun and I’m leaving this morning with much more typical 60 and fog. Fittingly, this is the San Francisco I know and love, all parts of the whole that are well know and much cherished throughout my life.
The City is much the same as it always has been but I have changed. I no longer like the filth and bustle, the noise and the intensity. It seems the people here are more aggressive than before and the level of life is lived at a much higher amperage.
I have had some intense and enlightening conversations with old friends and find we are all grappling with similar life lessons and stages. I am exceeding glad we have chosen Portland now as home, it is good to reinforce decisions made and validate lives lived.
I move south today, along the Pacific Coast Highway and Skyline Drive into Santa Cruz, Stopping at Duarte’s in Pescadero for a bowl of Green Chile and Artichoke soup and some crusty Sourdough.
Ronnie awaits me in Ben Lomond with a packed weekend FULL of old friends and neighbors and food and drink and art and, and, and……I am blessed, again.
